February BJP - Side 1 is Done!

Wow, I put so much beading onto this vessel that now it won't stand up!  So rather than call it finished, all I can say is that side 1 is complete.

I didn't want to bead the other side, but it looks as though I will have to.  I didn't realize how heavy these little seedy beads could be - I guess there's quite a mass of them on my vessel.  But that's OK - it's been a very enjoyable process for me to put needle, thread, and beads to work during the late evenings while mom and I are in front of the TV.

Mom sits in her chair with her crochet project, sharing space with Niki.  I sit in my chair with my BJP project, sharing space with Peanut.  Mom's very tiny, so that's not an issue.  I, on the other hand, have a hard time fitting both Peanut and my bottom into a single seat.  Peanut doesn't seem to mind, though - I guess body heat is a good thing.

So tonight, as I watch Project Runway, I will be beading once again.  My dilemma... should I continue on with side 2?  Should I do some beading on the March vessel?  Or should I tackle my tall "galaxy" vessel?  I guess I'll have to wait until then to see which one is calling to me.  I have a feeling it's going to be the tall one.

But for now, I'm heading back into my tech world - business requirements have to get finished pronto!  I hope all of you have a happy and creative day!

You could make the other side of the vessel next month's journal page! It's very lovely.

Thank you, Vicky and Susan!

Hmmm... I hadn't thought about making side 2 the March page. But that feels too much like cheating... ;-) I really want to try making a vessel a month, and I've already got March in progress. I'm going to try to keep the beading on March to a minimum. (yeah, right...) LOL!

Very, very delicate and lovely! I smiled in recognition of how it got heavy with beads and caused issues for you. Balancing it is now necessary, but you will enjoy doing it once you get started.

Thank you Barbara and Lynne!

I did start on the other side, and I am enjoying it. Somewhere in the back of my head, I just knew it was going to be out of balance - not the first time this has happened. I guess I was just in denial... LOL!

Don't be so hard on yourself, make each beaded piece with "happiness in your heart"....your out to "please yourself" & to enjoy the adventure.... (not the corporate world)

I just love how your BJP turned out, the colors, the beading, the style, very inspirational to all of us. Makes us all feel HAPPY for SPRING!!!

Thanks for sharing :-)

That vessel is gorgeous. Love the colours. Having said that I love all of your work! I hate to think how long it takes to felt and then bead.

I don't know how you can stand being such a multi-talented person... The recent LW beads you made are outstanding, totally awesome! So is your Feb. vessel. I know you're already beading the other side, but another solution might have been to wet and reshape the vessel so that the weight of the first side would be balanced... ie, a tipped vessel... Anyway, I got a good chuckle from your post on the BJP blog and that long sentence that also seems to describe me pretty well... followed by your vow for simplicity on March. It's a good challenge for you! I can't wait to see how both Feb and Mar turn out!

Once again, thank you all for such nice comments - you have me blushing!

Sometimes I'm hard on myself, but that doesn't last very long. I've enjoyed every minute of beading my BJP journal pages! I'm also enjoying all of the things that I've been learning.

It takes a LONG time to do both the felting and the beading, which is part of the reason why I haven't yet finished my March vessel - and here it is, approaching the end of April - yikes! I did finish beading the other side of the February vessel, and put a lot of time into it. Now I have to re-wet it and re-shape it because I really distorted the shape when I beaded it.

Robin, you're right - I should have wet and reshaped it before I tackled beading the other side. I'd have been done with April by now! LOL! And thank you for comments about my beads. I just wish I could spend more time on the torch - Bead & Button will be here in a flash, and I won't have anything in my booth! :-(
